Never let go of your dream

Here's an excerpt from First magazine 2001 issue that I thought would be befitting and  in tune with our New year resolutions... for we are always hopeful that the possibilities, goals and dreams  that we did not achieve in the last year, awaits us in the New year.

Why you Should Never let go of your Dream.

Studies show that dreams will come true if you simply believe that they will.  A study by the American Psychological  Association says you can have anything you desire... an exciting career, a happy marriage, an exotic adventure...if you have the right mind set.

The subconscious  has it's own language, made up of vivid images.   Thinking positive thoughts helps your subconscious motivate you to reach your deepest longings.

Here's a six step strategy to help you realize your dreams.

Step 1:  Set aside 15 minutes each day to unwind. Close your eyes, breath deeply. Then, standing... imagine a thread lifting your spine upward from the top of your head. Next, imagine you're standing under a waterfall, the water washing away your tension.

Step 2:  Use your imagination. Once you've relaxed, picture yourself in your dream.  Actually see yourself where you want to be.  What are you wearing?  Whom are you with. The image must be very specific.

Step 3:  Don't be afraid to talk to yourself...When it's positive it's motivational. For example, saying " Even tiny steps move me towards my dream",  is better than saying, " what's the point of me trying?  I'll never reach my goal.." When ever you hear yourself saying words like "no", "won't" can't or never", tell yourself  to replace them with an empowering message.

Step 4:  Share your dream only with people who support you by telling others that you know what you're looking for
( for instance, a new job, a new home) you'll increase your chances of connecting with someone who can make your dream become a reality.
On the other hand, confiding in people who are negative may sabotage your effort.

Step 5:  Do the little things you've been putting off, Take a class or write a friend, splurge on an outfit you love, but wouldn't ordinarily wear. Giving yourself an emotional lift feels good and reminds you that making a change...big or small.... is entirely in your hands.

Step 6:  Talk to someone who's already realized a dream like yours. Getting good advice from someone who's been there will motivate you to start making your own dream come true.

We need silence

"See how nature,  trees,  flowers,  grass....grows  in silence;  see the stars, the moon and the sun... how they move in silence... We need silence to be able to touch our souls".

It is the marriage of the soul with nature that makes the intellect fruitful and gives birth to the imagination.
